Cruising is my favorite way to travel. There is just something special about being out on the sea and the elegance of the ships. And it’s so relaxing to have all meals and entertainment provided. You unpack just once but get see several different places.
My husband and I spent Thanksgiving week on the Royal Princess, a brand new ship on our favorite cruise line. My father-in-law came along as well and it was great fun. The cruise left out of Fort Lauderdale and stopped at Princess Cays (a private island), St. Thomas, and St. Maarten.
The ship has a beautiful expanded piazza with shops, restaurants, bars, and live entertainment.
Alfredo’s is a free specialty restaurant serving salads, pizza and desserts.
Prego’s, the best pizza at sea!
The Princess Theater
Culinary demonstration in the theater
The adults only pool
One of my favorite places on the ship to read, sun, and relax (on deck 7)
The Enclave at the spa. It cost extra for a week long pass but I went every day and it was well worth it!
Dressing up on formal night.
One of the many amazing desserts!
And fun drinks in Club 6. That’s not water 🙂
In St. Thomas, we took a catamaran snorkeling tour over to St. John.
It was a beautiful, secluded beach.
In St. Maarten we used Bernard’s Tours and spent some time at Orient Bay Beach, one of my favorite beaches in the world.
A local man at a scenic overlook in St. Maarten was showing off his sea urchins.
One of the many marketplaces in the Caribbean.
Our last stop in St. Maarten was Maho Beach, where we got to see the incredible sight of planes landing just yards away on the runway adjacent to the beach.
