All-Inclusive Beach Vacation in Cancun

We usually take a fun trip in September to celebrate our anniversary and both of our birthdays (all this month). Plus the Labor Day holiday makes it a great time to travel. This year we decided to go to an all-inclusive resort in Cancun.

After doing a lot of research and reading tons of reviews on Trip Advisor, we chose to stay at Excellence Playa Mujeres. It’s just north of the Cancun hotel zone, on a quiet and secluded strip of beach. It really did live up to all of the rave reviews.

They upgraded us to a swim up suite since we were celebrating our anniversary. Our patio led straight out to the lazy river.

The resort has tons of pools and a great beach. There was never a problem finding empty beach/pool chairs, and within a few minutes of sitting down a server is there to take your drink order. There’s also a swim up bar in the main pool. The resort has nine restaurants. We tried five and they were all great, but we especially loved the French restaurant, Chez Isabelle, and the Indian restaurant, Basmati.

There’s lots to do at the resort at no extra cost–we played tennis and also took a guided bike tour.

Gentle waves, perfect for swimming. We saw a fish swimming right on the shoreline.ImageImage

We had two last drinks from the martini bar after we checked out–so sad to leave!
